Channeled Creativity: Where Nature Meets the Canvas
I'm Ava, a 22-year-old artist whose love for creating began in the heart of the Arizona wilderness. My earliest memories are filled not with cartoons on TV, but with encouragement from my mom to play outside and pick up the art supplies. My mom, who embraced a more natural, "crunchy" lifestyle, instilled a deep connection to the natural world in me.
Moving deep into the woods when I was 14 was a game-changer for my art. Nature became my playground, my muse. I dabbled in everything – sculpting with mud, writing novels, and filling notebooks with fantastical sketches. But over time, the vibrant dance of acrylic paints on the canvas stole my heart.
I've always been sensitive to a deeper current in the world around me. Even as a child, I felt a connection to something beyond the ordinary, a language of symbolism and energy. Today, that sensitivity fuels my art in a whole new way. I call it "channeled art" – it's like tapping into a creative wellspring and letting the universe flow through me onto the canvas.
My paintings often depict strong, Goddess-like women, celebrating femininity and the raw power of nature. Mushrooms and succulents pop up frequently. But my art isn't all sunshine and wildflowers. I explore the human experience, too, from joy and peace to the depths of struggle.
One piece that resonated deeply with people was a silhouette of a woman with one missing breast. It became a symbol of strength and self-love for survivors, a message that resonated far beyond the canvas. That's the kind of impact I crave – to create art that speaks to the soul, that sparks a conversation, that offers solace or a sense of belonging.
So far, I've showcased my work at pop-up art events, and the response has been incredible! Now, it's time to branch out and connect with a wider audience. I'm building my online presence, offering high-quality prints of my channeled art.
